Another of Lawence Sander's Delightful Books

I have enjoyed a number of Lawrence Sanders' books. This one was no exception. Todd, an investigator for a private foundation, is sent to a small village to investigate the activities of a doctor Thorndecker to determine whether the foundation should approve a grant to Thorndecker. Thorndecker is searching for a way to extend human life through the activities of viruses, on the theory that a virus is immortal. Thorndecker also has a personal interest in extending life, as he is married to a much younger woman. The village is highly economically dependent on Thorndecker's activities. Many of the villagers are concerned as the possibility that the grant may not be approved. Todd gradually learns a lot of unsavory facts about Thorndecker's activities, including the murder of failed subjects. There is an active sex interest. but the main line of the book what and how Todd learns. There is significant physical risk to Todd as he takes chances to learn more about Thorndecker's activities. There is a resolution for which I believe you should read the book. I enjoyed the book very much, and will re-read it. This book was a little less plausible than others of Sander's work. .
