and boring. Newly married couple

Want to believe that Hemingway would not have had this novel published. The story is silly, contrived, and boring. Newly married couple...woman wants to be a boy when they have sex...they meet another woman and wife brings her into their relationship...husband making love to both women...wife becomes mentally unbalanced...marriage collapses...new woman to marry man. My advice is to not waste your time reading this nonsense.

Weird book. Makes me think Hemingway was trying to justify loving two women at the same time and then leaving the first for the second by making the first wife be the bad one. I did finish it but couldn't wait to get to the end. I didn't appreciate the stilted writing and was expecting more from this celebrated author. Give me Wallace Stegner or John Updike any day over this.
